The Chiropractic Clinic - We aim for excelence in muscularskeletal care

Chiropractic is a natural non-invasive healthcare modality based on the relationship between your Central Nervous System (CNS) and your musculoskeletal system. It has a primary focus on optimising your overall neuro-musculoskeletal system. This is achieved by predominately by treating your spine.

When your spine is misaligned (ie. subluxated) your nervous system will be affected. The nerves that travel through and exit your spine at different spinal segments are involved in transmitting messages between your brain and your muscles, tissues and viscera.

Chiropractic is a primary contact health profession, whereby the practitioner practices chiropractic as a science based health care profession related to the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system.

Chiropractic is the largest hands-on health care profession in the Western world and now has a great interest developing within both Europe and Asia. Chiropractic is non-surgical and non-drug prescribing contact discipline. Chiropractic is a safe treatment protocol for all ages.

The Vertebral Subluxation Complex
A Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC) is a term used by chiropractors to describe the process that occurs when the spinal bones lose their normal position or movement. This will place the surrounding vertebrae and dics, ligaments, and musculature under biomechanical stress. Chiropractors treat a VSC by using spinal adjustments to realign your spine.

If this spinal mal-alignment (i.e. VSC) is not corrected by a chiropractor it may increase the likelihood of degenerative wear and tear, as well as significantly affect your nervous system.

The Spinal Adjustment
Chiropractors use specific spinal adjustments to correct subluxations and hence restore normal nerve function. A spinal adjustment is very specific to the level of the spine where the spinal subluxation is present.

The aim of the chiropractic spinal adjustment is to adjust your nervous system. If your nervous system is functioning well (i.e. without nerve interference) your body will feel great and you will function at your optimal level.

Regular chiropractic treatments are imperative in ensuring that you have a well balanced spine and thus a nervous system that is working at its optimum.

Chiropractic Education and Qualification
Chiropractic doctors are highly educated primary healthcare professionals, requiring 5 years of full-time university study in Australia. Chiropractors receive extensive theory and practical training in treating the spine at university and there is no other healthcare profession with the same standard of qualification in treating the spine and its related conditions.
